The project for the reconstruction of five Senegalese regional airports is carried out on the basis of intergovernmental negotiations and the SENEGALESE PARTY expressed interest in its implementation on the basis of the world's unique Modular Airport Program developed in the Czech Republic by TRANSCON ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS, s.r.o.

The project is being carried out by the internationally renowned Czech company TRANSCON ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS, s.r.o. as a general contractor. The company specialises in the production of airport equipment and systems (reference: 280 airports and heliports in 34 countries).

After long negotiations, Transcon signed a contract to build five regional airports in Senegal, including Saint Louis Airport in the north or Ziguinchor in the south of Senegal.

On 21 December 2018, President Macky Sall held an inaugural ceremony at the 1st St.-Louis Airport.

On Friday, 22 November 2019, a contract was signed in Dakar to finance the first phase of the construction and reconstruction of 5 airports in Senegal between the Czech Export Bank (CEB), Komerční banka (KB) and the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Cooperation.
